RIM comes out with yet another little piece of mobile, this time its a flip model. Although unlike RIM products, Blackberry pearl 8220 smart phone is the first flip model that RIM has come out with.

This time the body looks better than previous pearl models. It fits perfectly in the hand and has better curves than its predecessors. It looks a little like the Motorola Razr, but a puffed up razr.

The LCD screen is 12 8x 260 TFT which makes it easier to preview messages and incoming call’s ids. Although this is similar to most of the flip phones, yet it can out beat others by giving the facility of avoiding the 0800 numbers.

Apart from the outer screen on the top, there is the inner, main screen. It is a 3 inch, 240×320 screen which allows you to view video in landscape and portrait mode. The 8130 was a slightly sharp edged model and hence this new model, 8220 comes out as a great upgrade. The quality of User interface is also excellent and lives up to the Blackberry standards.

The internal memory has also been upgraded from 64 MB to 128 MB. Another positive addition is the Blackberry media sync that will allow you to pass on the your favorite music from pC onto your phone. Moreover it also comes bundled with other important accessories like stereo headsets, blue tooth supported GPS receiver, car kits and the removable and rechargeable 900 mAhr battery to deliver a continuous four hours of talk time and over 14 days of standby time.

The phone is also compatible with nearly all media formats like MP3, acc, wma etc. Other features also include smart dialing, conference calling, call forwarding, speed dialing etc.

Blackberry 8220 comes loaded with blackberry maps to deliver maps and step by step driving directions with an enchanced HTML browser in two views, column as well as page.

Although Metallic attires generally don’t do good, Samsung i7110 seem to change the perspective of metallic symbians right with its launch. A metallic attire, awesome features and state of art gadget would surely leave many behind. Well we some how got our hands on this beautiful looking piece and started are regular postmortem on it.

Lets take a glance over its main features: Symbian 9.3 OS, S60 3.2 UI (FP 2), 5 megapixel auto focus camera with dual-LED flash, Camera wide dynamic range, , anti-shake, geo-tagging, face, smile and blink detection, VGA video recording at 30 fps and two slow motion video recording modes, Wi-Fi connectivity with DLNA support, GPS receiver with A-GPS,2.6″ 262K-color display of QVGA resolution, FM transmitter, Optical trackpad navigation, microSD card slot, Dimensions: 118 x 52 x 12.9mm, Weight: 125g, 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery, 3G with HSDPA support, DivX and XviD playback out of the box

Samsung takes a huge leap with this model and provides the all in one gadget running on symbian. With the other giants in the market like Nokia with their N95 and N96, this samsung baby promises to show its spark. Samsung i7110 isn’t all the compact you can think of, but at least it is within the range of comfortable size. The metallic body makes it a little heavier, instead little extra use of plastic could have made this handset a little more light.

The design begins with the frontal part having a 2.6″ screen with 16 million color display of QVGA resolution. It has excellent quality of picture and performs pretty well under the sunlight. contrast and other aspects of display are also good. Just above the screen, you have the video call camera and earpiece. The keypad has a 8 way navigation system, that means you can swipe diagonally too! With this, navigation within the browser makes it pretty simple.

This DPad also brings problems. when you are scrolling side ways, you cannot press any option. Now this could have been avoided. The keypad isn’t much to speak about and comes within the regular design, hence we will skip that in our review.

The left side of Samsung i7110 has the volume controls and a usb port. Buttons given there are quite large but are rigid enough.

Micro SDslot, camera key and FM key are on the right side of the handset. We wonder why was FM transmitter given a separate key making us believe that Samsung values FM a lot.

i7110′s bottom is plain and has nothing there. Behind the handset you have the 5 MP camera lens along with dual LED flash light just above it. Loudspeaker is also embedded in the top right side.

The battery cover is made of steel and opens up when you pull the latch at the bottom. It has a 1200 mAh Li-Ion Battery similar to the previous model i8510 INNOV8. The power consumption is huge with S60 3rd edition FP2 phones, which is well handled by this battery.

Music player has nothing new to be mentioned about. Its same as its previous models. The GPS navigation is pretty good in this smart phone. It has a built in GPS reciever with A-GPS support.

With this model, Samsung is back again for big competition. The only drawback of this phone is its poor soft key ergonomics. Samsung always had this problem and we wonder when it would pay attention to it. Rest assured, a great phone for a great price!

Integration of technology has become a regular phenomena these days. Its been long since we have been hearing about portable projectors when recently we heard an Australian company coming out with the prototype of it and soon would float it in market.

However, this time the news is pretty different and is more of a surprise than regular technological expectations.
Mobile technology has moved up to the next level of integration and this time its a combination of mobile cum projector. Yes, you heard it right. Though many were not expecting it in the near future, the Chinese experts have successfully taken out the first ever Mobile which has a built in projector.

This Chinese wonder is called Epoq EGP-pp01 and has some awesome features. It can project an image of VGA resolution of 640×480 which was made possible by use of the LCos projector and a bright LED as a source of light.

This gadget is highly flexible and can connect to any audio or video device. The facility of USB makes it possible to connect to any DVD player, laptop, desktop, etc. The distance of projection should be 30 inches for best quality.

The battery is also built in and provides a 3 hour running time which is pretty enough for any movie or presentation in meetings. The option to connect external device makes it possible to project all those files which the mobile is unable to read or detect.

The look of this mobile is exactly same as iPhone. It also has camera and touch screen. The button placement is slightly odd which is a common factor in all Chinese phones. But one can easily get used to such buttons.

This is the first try to have a projector in the mobile phone. Though still clueless whether this idea would be a hit or not, but surely, this step towards integrating projector in mobile is a revolution in mobile technology.

This gadget is said to be priced at just $550, which is quite inexpensive for the kind of features it holds!

Motorola has come out with yet another model, and this time it is exclusively for women in fashion. Earlier Yesterday, Motorola launched its new model MOTOJEWEL mobile which has a touch of Femina.

Motorola has always been good in targeting specific audience with its releases.
What more, it comes along with a handbag which has room for MotoJewel, a lipstick and a credit card. Well that’s what every woman who parties out require for a night out.

This new launch from Motorola is sure to win some customers because it caters to the people who shop the most, the women!

Motojewel comes with a blue tooth headset giving the ease of hands free. It also comes along with music player which can easily be synced with Windows Media Player application on your computer.

This model also has a 2 MP camera, thus satisfying the need of photography through cellphone which is a demand among women.

This model is similar to the U9 headset which was released last year. Even the hidden display is similar to it. Motojewel keeps in mind the colorful needs of a woman and hence comes in “Midnight quartz” scheme with purple keypad inside.

This model has been released for only specific time and would be in market from November onwards. At present, the price is unknown. If you happen to know it, please leave a comment with the information.

Evolving continuously, Samsung comes out yet again with an excellent model called the Samsung i900 Omnia which looks pretty stylish, has excellent features packed in it and has complete software solutions.

The tall claims of Samsung about this model turned true when the phone was finally released and came into our hands. Now doubt, since it was launched, people are hooked to it.

The key features include Quad-band GSM support, 3G with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS, 624MHz Marvell PXA312 CPU and 128 MB RAM, 3.2″ 65K-color touchscreen with resolution of 240 x 400 pixels, 5 megapixel autofocus camera with wide dynamic range mode, face tracking, smile detection, geotagging, 8 to 16 GB of storage memory, microSD expansion, Built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Stereo Bluetooth and USB connectivity, FM radio with RDS, Optical joystick with virtual mouse functionality, Built-in accelerometer for auto screen rotation and call muting, TV-out, Solid build and great finish, Slick design and slim body, Nice battery life, Fast response and performance, Excellent thumb-optimized software package, virtual QWERTY keyboard with optional landscape mode, TouchWiz UI, DivX video support right out of the box, Above average audio quality, Headset comes with a 3.5mm audio jack.

Design & Looks: Omnia doesn’t differ much in design and is on similar lines as the other touchscreen handsets. However, The rear finish is kind of unique in this model. There is earpiece and light sensor as well as second camera for conferencing at the top of front panel. The bottom has call and end keys with an optical joystick in between.

The volume control and camera key are on right side while left side has the usb port. The top has the power key and reset hole. The power key is too small and hard to press. The back part has the 5 mp camera.

Performance & features: It has a 3.2″ touch screen which is a feel good one. with resolution of 240×400, it has 65,000 colors. The battery is pretty good even while using various applications. The memory storage comes from 8GB up to 16 GB on board. The touch pad is very smooth and you can easily browse through the phone options.

Unlike other touch screens, this one has a sharp sensor, making moving through the phone a pleasant experience. The 5 Mega Pixel camera provides excellent image shot, fast response and many high end camera features. Omnia is the first 5 MP camera pocket PC to hit the market. The built in GPS allows user to navigate the unit well.

There many widgets like digital clock, an analog clock, a world-time clock, a birthday reminder list, a photo browser, ringing profile selector, a music player, an FM radio, a Notes widget, and a calendar, plus several shortcuts to Windows applications such as Notes, Games, etc, that can provide you a computer experience.

The phone book has unlimited contact list capability. Email has support for Pop3, Push Email and IMAP. Even the Music freaks have something in store. Omnia is the first certified Divx windows mobile device which means you get divx player along with the mobile. This phone uses windows mobile 6.1 operating system and can see some compatibility issues initially. It also has a built in FM radio which requires the headset to be plugged in.

Cons: No stylus slot, memory card not hot swappable, Web browser lacks real Flash support, Non-standard USB port, Non-standard display resolution, No dedicated 3D accelerator and Poor sunlight legibility.

Of course it can keep high hopes, especially with the SGH i8510 release. It is also codenamed as the G850. With many companies launching their products this season, Samsung may expect an upper hand with this product for many reasons. Firstly the improved feature structure, secondly the high demand for a change and thirdly getting the entire world into one mobile. The key features include 8 mega pixel digital camera with auto focus and a built in 5.1 surround sound, first ever in any mobile phone.

This model is a close replica of U900 and G810 models but more upgraded version. Any person who likes to do business with style would surely opt for this model. Although not a very high competent smart phone, but it does excel in its technical abilities. There are few drawbacks that should have been avoided by Samsung. However, since the model is not yet in stores, the designers can still rectify it before letting it out to the customers.
The operating system used in this model is the latest S60, which is pretty good. It has a xenon LED flash Camera. It is fast with 128 MB RAM can doesn’t take much time open up files and documents. Other features include 16GB memory Nand Card, GPS, WiFi, Blue tooth 2.0, and 3G HSDPA with speed upto 7.2 Mbps. These are some of the features which Samsung had put in this model, looking at its price range. A touch screen surely would have made a huge difference and liking to this model.

This model was supposed to be the Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber shot rival. But one thing that cannot be changed is that both brands have their specialties. It also depends on the demand in the market. Will Samsung SGH i8510 succeed in finding good market? well lets wait and see.

This time with its three simultaneous launches W902, W959 and W302! Whats common in all of them? well all of these are music phones in addition to having a digi camera. Not much is known about their features, but it seems that W902 excels out of the three with a 5 Mega pixel digi camera, high sound quality and easily increased to 8 GB memory. The W302 is much lesser in price and targets the reasonable priced cellphones market. W959 has built in stereo speakers and a digicamera of 3.2 MP. W302 has some similar features like that of W959, but with only 2 Mega Pixel.

These three phones are expected to hit the stores by the end of September 2008. More news on these phones can only obtained once the phones are out in market. Their success and failure, completely depends on other releases. Anyways, we will review the pone once in our hand and put the review here for your knowledge. Till then hang on!

This time it’s new Sony Ericsson W595, also codenamed as “Linda”. This is a slider cum Walkman phone. A combination of C905 Cyber shot and W850 models, this piece is promised to be much better with more features. The design is pretty good and would replace W580 in market especially in the reasonable price range. Its a smart phone with a lot of options to enjoy.

Some of the key features of Sony Ericsson W595 are Walkman player 3, possibly GPS, 3D accelerometer, FM radio and Google Maps. It would use the standard branded software running on platform A2.

Not many functions have been discussed about this phone and hence very little information is available. It looks like it is bigger than W580, including the display. The guess is that it would have a display of 240×320 resolution.

Sony Ericsson aims at getting a success rate that is same or more than W580. No doubt, in the cellphone world, Sony Ericsson is one of the most reliable pieces. As far as sound is concerned, there is no match to it. Let us wait for this gadget to hit the stores and then we will see its key features. As of now this is the only information available for us. Do check us back once its released for its complete review.

Sweeping the mobile world, iPhone delights its fans again. This time its with the appearance of iTunes 7.7, Launch of iPhone 3G, App Store etc.

As if this was not enough, that iPhone 3G launch also introduced the new firmware 2.0, which has all awesome features available for all iPhone users, including the old ones.

This firmware was expected to be launched as soon as possible with all fans waiting for it. The new firmware has some amazing features at its discretion.

With this huge leap, do you think Windows mobile would be outdated or out performed? well that can happen because this new firmware 2.0 has unexpected features. Firmware 2.0 has full support for Microsoft Exchange Activesync, calendar, contacts synchronization and push email. For corporate clients, Cisco IPSec VPN and WPA2 Enterprise support is very interesting.

The email client supports more contacts and can easily search for any contact. It also supports more types of attachments. Better late than never, Apple did come up with language support like Korean, Chinese, Russian, French, Spanish etc; giving the most important update in its iPhone applications.

Apple has finally turned iPhone into a powerful gadget. Even the iTouch users would be able to update with firmware 2.0 and will have improved functions. These new additions by Apple is surely winning more and more customers throughout the world. As the target stays, they plan to sell 45 million pieces of iPhone 3G by the end of 2009. Way to go Apple!

Hey Mobile freaks! Apple iPhone 3G has been officially launched!

Well “ultra review” is amongst the first blogs to give you a complete review of this Apple Mobile. All the much fear and rumors of this awaited gadget is now put to rest, thanks to the awesome presentation by Steve Jobs!

The iPhone now comes in many more attractive colors, especially the black casing which really tempts you. The entire design has been refurbished and this model looks much more thinner than the previous one. The previous model had a very flat back giving it a cheap look. This has been rectified in the new piece with slightly curvy back giving it a sleek feel. There is also this new earphone socket which is the normal 3.5 mm pins, which means users can just plug in any headphone of their choice. Well the remaining structure remains as it is. One Drawback about this phone is that since it is a 3G piece, it should have an additional camera in front.

One excellent feature that i would like to mention is that his new iPhone 3g is equipped with an integrated GPS unit plus other local services to help improve that feature, particularly with Google maps Geotagging. Apart from this, the battery life is also improved with Apply claiming it to be up to 5 hours of talk time, which is pretty good. Also this 3G phone would be much faster than the previous model.

This iPhone 3g also supports Global address look up, Exchange Servers, Push calendar, Auto-discovery of Exchange Servers, Push Emails, Push contacts and a Remote wipe security feature. The previous “bugs”, particularly about deleting the email in bulk has been fixed. Now you can delete emails in bulk. You also have new contact search feature to look up information in address book and complete support for viewing office documents. It also has a new scientific Calculator. There are many more minor changes that really make browsing a very good experience in this little wonder.

And the cost? well as steve job said, it is going to cost nothing more than $199 across the world, which means all the countries. So rush for it!
