The Sony Handycam HDR-CX150 represents economic camcorders produced by Sony. Some of the other camcorders which have similar features and come in cost range include the Sony Handycam HDR-CX110 and Sony Handycam XR 150. The camcorder is available with 3 megapixel Exmor RCMOS sensor that measures around a quarter inch in size.

The lens can be rotated and gives a 25x active steady shot disabled option. It gives minimum illumination of standard 11 and a low light of 3. The camcorder does not have the EVF but the LCD is available at 2.7 inch with touch screen technology.

Storage is available in the form of a 16 GNB inbuilt SDHC and it also supports external memory. The HD recording is available in the form of AVCHD 1080/60i@24 and it has a 17 Mbps. There is no manual shutter speed and iris. It does not have the accessory shoe and audio is available through two channels.

The camcorder is pretty lightweight weighing at 9.3 ounces and it is priced in the range of $499.99 to $549.99. It can easily fit into a loose pocket. It is a little larger than a mini camcorder and is pretty attractive in color and design. The image stabilization is very convenient for shooting videos while on the move.

If you are not going to shoot for long hours that require more capacity, then HDR-CX150 is the best choice, especially during the time of recession when saving money is a priority, spending extra just to pack up on hard disk would not be a wise decision.

Although the video quality is not commendable, and the lens flare may also pose performance issues while shooting in bright sunlight, the camcorder is a good catch as it has all the state of the art technology and features that are available with camcorders that are available at twice its cost. It is available in small size and the price is the main lure, and if you are looking for a very good quality HD camcorder then you can go for Sony Handycam HDR-CX150.
