How worth buying is Samsung SGH-D410, with more advanced features like slide design and a 260K color display ? offering a slide model classic conception on the likes of Nokia 7650 or Siemens SL55.Let us have a glimpse of it..

Just not the smallest if you thought

Weighing 116g, the new SGH-D410 is quite big featuring a large display covering the 2/3rd of the mobile’s front part, with phone’s dimensions 98x48x24 mm. The basic phone functions like making and receiving call work even in the locked position but the user won’t be able to write text messages.In this position,it is a bit complicated to use the phone, like one has to press the green call or the side key for about 2-3 seconds indicating that the keypad is locked.
Whereas while unlocking, one has to press the left function key with three dots. But more easier way to activate it is to just slide-up the keypad.

It moves as well

One can see the revolving roller above the display and it surely holds lens of an integrated camera. With a battery capacity of 900 mAh, this luxurious phone is equipped with a standard Li-pol battery for the handset to work effectively for 3 to 4 days. Attractive display

Other items on the display are more or less the same layout items usually present on the phones like a signal and battery strength indicator, operator logo, date and time on the display.The display can also be customized with wallpapers as animations or static pictures. For the items on display, there are two keys assigned. Left key stands for “Choose” and right one for “Cancel” function.

Function of the Middle key still holds the old WAP function.

When the central cursor key is moved, four important functions can be performed. Moving it down activates the camera, moving it up takes you to sound settings, moving it right starts the voice recorder and ofcourse moving it left takes you to the text editor.

The Main menu

There are two different shapes on the item list, first-each item is separately displayed with an animated picture. Second-the items are displayed small enough to see four of them at one go. Key shortcuts could also be well used to jump to any item one wishes to check out.

Phone book capacity

The memory space for both-SIM card capacity and the Phone memory,is huge to hold as many as 1000 entries. These entries are feeded with the phone numbers as the basis rather than the names(contacts) in the phone book.So they actually are 1000 contact numbers. For ex., if you are storing 2 numbers for someone then these two numbers are actually the two entries from those available 1000 entries in the memory.One can’t reach the phone book at one touch, but menu should be used.

Ringing tones

Once you explore your phone there are just many beautiful ringtones
to look out for with 64 polyphonic tones already at your hand to choose from. The message ringtone can be assigned as many as 10 different sounds. Once the message is in, the LED on the display blinks to catch your attention more especially in the night.

SMSes, MMSes, Email messaging from your phone..all that v simple..

Composing text messages is just simple as any other normal phone does.But this phone definitely has an added advantage over others as it supports SMS of 918 characters, which is a length of six normal text messages. The phone uses the normal functions of alphabets, numbers, dictionary (T9), etc and also counts downs characters used. It just shows you off after 160 characters that you’ve already headed for the second message and so on. It has got a storage capacity of 200 messages at a time, and also supports other features like delivery reports and picture messages.
The phone also has MMS messaging feature at one’s disposal with maximum given size of 100 kB for a single message. For multimedia messages, the total size of 1 MB of the memory is reserved.

The email messaging too is one of the extensive features of this phone, while attaching photos or other text files etc. One can have 5 accounts and 5 profiles to maintain. Emails can have signatures and can also be sent in copies too. First the headers of the mails are read then the body.

Videos and pictures

One of the most prominent features of this phone is its Digital camera, with maximum picture resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. One can shoot 6, 9 or 15 shots at one go with its unique sequential imaging.
One of the added features to this SGH-D410 is that you can edit or  enhance your shots to your liking. The whole lens system can be turned according to your requirement. For pictures, The total memory size is of approx. 3 MB and the video files too have the same size of memory capacity.
It’s very convenient to transfer pictures and videos from the mobile to the PC through EasyGPRS communication software.

Games, Organiser, Alarm clock, Calculator, etc.

Four games are already pre-installed into it, and this handset supports Java.
Organizer includes a calendar for your convenience any time and also a time organizer which allows writing comments in maximum length of 40 characters.
The alarm clock works even if the phone is switched off or in silent mode with its built-in functions.
Then you also have a calculator at your service which handles tasks with brackets automatically,plus a currency converter, a voice recorder, etc.

About connecting to PCs

An integrated hardware modem is already installed in it for you to connect to PCs via cable or infrared, which supports GPRS class 8 software. With this EasyGPRS communication software, data connection is just easy.
