Sony Ericsson C903
Since the time megapixel camera phones brought a revolution in the mobile industry every other camera phone manufacturer is getting in this race. Sony Ericsson being the leader wants to improvise itself in something it also has.
It is true that they have 8MP camera phones but coming back to redefine 5MP camera phones is also a wise decision. Today we bring to you Sony Ericsson C903, a 5MP camera phone. When kept horizontal the phone looks like a digital camera and the best part about Sony Ericsson C903 is the inclusion of the Facebook app.
The box consists of a Sony Ericsson C903 5MP phone, Stereo Headset, USB Cable, 1GB M2 Memory, a Charger, Software CD and a manual.
The Sony Ericsson C903 is yet another slider phone from Sony Ericsson. The edges and corners are rounded off with a flowing design and the phone gets a subtle look with the use of chrome on its glossy body which makes the phone look more attractive. Sony Ericsson C903 comes in various colors; some of them might appeal the female audience more.
Most of the space is occupied by the screen which is 2.4-inch wide. The earpiece sits above the screen which is in the form of a hole and there is a light sensor next to it. Under the screen you can see a thin chrome strip which is used to divide the D-pad and the navigation section of keys from the screen, which adds more glamour to the phone.
On either side of the chrome line there are two soft buttons followed by the calling buttons which are rather elevated for easy access. Under them we have the Activity Menu key and the Clear button. The D-pad occupies most of the central space and features a square like design.
The sliding mechanism is a bit sturdy as you might end of disturbing the display or press any key. The keypad has a wavy design, however the feedback from the keys is good but the backlighting of the keypad looked a bit unsteady. The left most row is brighter than the other two rows.
On either side of the Sony Ericsson C903 you can see a connectivity port at one end, and M2 card slot which is placed under the battery cover and several buttons on the right hand side. There is the volume control, shortcut to the Camera Album, Camera mode button (Still/Video), and Camera Shutter. All these buttons sit on a chrome ring that runs around the phone.
The Sony Ericsson C903 did not receive any new update apart from the not-so-new conversation type messaging system. The phone is as simple and easy as it was earlier.
They have added few applications to the C903 such as Facebook app though this is not like the version of Facebook app which we see in iPhone or even the Windows Mobile version. The app is like an interface but if you wish to seek any further detail you will most likely be directed to the default web-browser of the phone. One of the good parts is that it’s not a bookmark like for Symbian and Samsung phones. Another addition is the PullFace 2. This app allows you to play with the pictures stored on the device. It allows you to expand and contract parts of the images and create different effects which is fun to use.
On the whole the phone is good option to choose however doesn’t justify the pricing it demands as of now. The phone doesn’t have anything bad but missing on few worthy options like Wi-Fi, 3G video camera. But being a device which for social networking it must have had Wi-Fi and also the camera quality of the C903 is not much of an improvement which compares with C902, but of course it has few more features and comes as a slider phone. So if anyone is interested in buying this phone I suggest them to wait for the price to come down.
