It has been found to be lacking in terms of HD display or a 3 G antenna. The processor is available at 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 and it has a memory of 1GB, 800 MHz DDR2.It has a hard drive of 250GB 5,400rpm and the chip set is Mobil Intel 945 GSE. The graphics are amazing as usual and are provided by Intel GMS 950.

It supports operating system Windows XP Home SP3. The height of Samsung Go N310 comes to around 1.1 inches and the display is like any other net book. It is only 10.1 inches, and this may appear to be a little small for those users who are buying a netbook for the first time. But most users get used to it very soon and it is very convenient too.

The system weighs at 3.7 pounds and is easy to carry while traveling. It has an excellent battery life and it is recommended for the avid user who is constantly on the move. It has a unique style and look and it has been designed by a world renowned Japanese artist. It has an excellent battery life, but the high end netbook has a very high price that seems unjustified when rated against performance. However, the Samsung Go N310 has been recognized for bringing a fresh wave of art in the tech world and it has defined the modern look for more netbooks to come. But if you don’t care about the high price, it will make an eye catching netbook if you want to travel in style.

Lenovo ThinkPad is a fantasy notebook, dreamt by many. Lenovo ThinkPad is easy to carry and an ultraportable device. The main feature of Lenovo ThinkPad is that, it uses a low voltage processor called AMD Athlon Neo, made with low capacity ATI graphics. The device gives you a feeling of carrying a notebook, due to its light weight.

This electronic media can store a huge data, as it has a memory of 2 GB and a RAM of 320 GB. You can select the choice from the list available. The battery is placed at the back and can be removed easily. The look of the Lenovo ThinkPad will not get affected by the battery bulging out. It rather looks like a resting position, and can be placed on the lap.

Dell Inspiron Mini iM1012-687OBK

Dell Inspiron Mini iM1012-687OBK is a small fish in a big pond, and faces the threat of being devoured by the bigger Netbook sharks that have a bigger hard drive. But nevertheless, Dell Inspiron Mini iM1012-687OBK takes a firm stand, as it is the least expensive among all the three versions of Dell Inspiron that have been released during the same year. The model of Netbook is over priced at $349 and includes a processor 1.6Hz Intel Atom N450.

But it has a small hard drive at 160 GB only available at 5,400 rpm.  Dell Inspiron Mini iM1012-687OBK faces fierce competition from Samsung and Asus notepads which are featured to be having  the best touch pad and keyboard features respectively.

However, the touchpad available with Dell looked very much like the keys of a HP netbook, and is not very practical as the navigation is very difficult, with the mouse pads being placed in the sides of the keypad. The Dell Inspiron Mini iM1012-687OBK Netbook environment does not seem adequate but the security system is pretty enhanced. Various apps are made available at default on the home page but the user is also given the freedom to launch an application of his own preference.

It has an L2 type of cache memory which is 512 KB in size. The random Access memory is installed at 1 GB which can be extended to 2GB at the maximum. It also supports flash memory cards like memory stick, multimedia card and SD memory card slot is also available. If you are an avid user the Dell Inspiron Mini iM1012-687OBK, is not recommended as the storage capacity is inadequate.

If Dell can consider updating the model with an additional hard drive capacity, then it is sure to bring in more sales. However, even the retail version known as Dells Mini 10 Netbook also failed to survive in the ever increasing competition in the Netbook Arena.

Mobile phones and Nokia always sounded like synonyms to us. The minute Nokia comes in mind we think of mobile phones. But Nokia and netbooks or laptops!! Are you kidding me??

Well, this is no joke as the World’s leading mobile phone manufacturer is all set to make its debut in the industry of netbook.

Nokia 3G Booklet is Nokia’s pioneer in the netbook segment. We can only wait and watch until they unveil their first portable computer to tell you how different is Nokia from other netbooks.

Talking about the key features Nokia 3G Booklet is based on the well known Intel Atom platform and this is also the first netbook which will be featuring an HDMI HD video output. It is not that we are trying to bend towards the good factor about the little Atom and the HD stuff, but still having that output is definitely a step towards changing the netbooks into media cantor PCs.

Battery life is said to last up to 12hrs. This is a very important aspect and through this Nokia becomes a serious contender in this field. Nokia 3G Booklet has an integrated 3G/HSDPA modem and Wi-Fi too. The wow factor is the built-in GPS receiver which will successfully team up with the Nokia Maps application.

Nokia 3G Booklet has got a 10 inch screen and weighs 1.2kg. it measures only 20mm in thickness and there is a front facing video camera and Bluetooth. Nokia 3G Booklet will soon be available at Nokia World at the beginning of next month.

There is no information about the pricing of this netbook yet.

With so many net books launching in the market Sony never showed any sign of interest that it would join the band wagon. But here it is with VAIO W Series with Intel Atom, Windows XP and a price tag of ?400 Sony is out with a netbook. Sony had the VAIO P Series ultra portable laptop and also had a reputation attached to it with classy, lifestyle kit and high price tags.

The best part about the W Series is how generic it is. Under the cover you will see an Intel Atom N280 plus 1GB of RAM powering Windows XP. There is a 160GB HDD, 10.1 inch screen, Bluetooth, draft in WiFi and range of memory card slots. Looking at these specifications you must be thinking that any other netbook has the same specs which were released in the past six months.

But what makes W Series to stand out and term it as netbook which is more than an average netbook is the screen. Although 10.1 inch is the new standard size for all the netbooks, Sony has packed in one of its X-black LCDs assisted by LED technology. Additionally, it also upbeats the resolution by 1366 x 768 pixels which is more than the normal 1024 x 600 standard resolution.

Watching videos on the X-black screen is a pleasure too. You will be surprised to find the better quality of the blacks and the color depth than you will find in any other cheaper devices. You will see a sharp and better screen quality especially while browsing websites. It also cuts the time dramatically of the time you spend scrolling pages and improves usability tenfold.

So, if you treat your netbook like a portable entertainment device as much as you do for writing mails and browsing Facebook then this netbook is highly recommended. At the battery front it is quite disappointing as it quotes three hours of normal use, although it was able to give that much initially but later had to reach out for the power cable too frequently.

The W Series did manage to steal the show with the keyboard. It is one of the growing numbers of pebble keyboards, sporting those superb isolated keys. It was one of the features on the Samsung N310. Seeing at the keyboard it gives a feeling that it must be incorporated in all the keyboards. They are simply outstanding and a must have keyboard in all the netbooks.

The W Series is price tagged at ?399. Is it worth buying at this rate? Well, Sony does attract attention with its high quality design and build in quality, the X-black screen and superb keyboard aredefinitely going to catch your eyes attention.
