Sony Ericsson is out with its new addition of T-series. After trying its hands on multimedia and eco-friendly phones. Sony Ericsson is out with a bang with T715 which is compact in size featuring a stylish slider that offers 3G connectivity and a 3MP snapper.

As T715 is all about making a fashion statement, more emphasis is on its looks and to impress its audience it has come up with a back cover brushed with aluminum and the phone comes in two ravishing colors – Galaxy Silver with piano finish and Rogue Pink with mirror finish. Its dimensions are 91.5 x 48.0 x 14.9mm and its weighs only 96g which is quite compact for a slider. The T715 sports a 3.15 megapixel camera with Cell-ID geotagging and a LED flash. Don’t expect too much out of the video recording capabilities as it might not live up to your expectations and there is no autofocus either.
The display screen is 2.2 inch big with QVGA resolution and with the T715 Sony Ericsson claims good legibility under sunlight. The phone also features music functionality with TrackID, PlayNow and Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP along with FM Radio with RDS. The T715 also accepts microSD cards.
Similar to its previous handsets the T715 has a speedy HSPA which will be utilized by a NetFront browser and a You Tube application. You can also do video calling with the main camera which is also the only camera.
Another interesting feature about Sony Ericsson T715 is that it comes with some useful Google integration like Google Maps and Google Search, accessible from the homescreen. Another attraction about T715 is that it offers something which the company named as “smart desktop feature” – this feature shows reminders (including special animations for birthdays and global events) and notes on the homescreen to make sure that they don’t slip your mind. We have seen this feature on the homescreen in the older versions of SE, so we’ll see what exactly this new feature offers.
You can see two versions of the phone T715, which supports 2100MHz HSPA, and T715a, the American version that supports 850/1900/2100MHz HSPA. Both versions have quad-band GSM/GPRS.
The T715 will be out in the select market by the third quarter of 2009 and like always the price is not yet known.
I am a recent Omnia (910) user on Verizon who was very disappointed with Windows Mobile 6.1 and Samsung’s shell. Wound up purchasing SPB Mobile Shell to have a usable interface and needed to abandon Exchange electronic mail due to protection restrictions. Essentially anytime you tried to place or obtain a call, you needed to enter your PIN and I was missing calls as being a result. Lastly decided to abandon smart phones for that time being (economic explanations) and wait for a great Android product. The Galaxy S (Facinate) need to fit the bill. Disappointed to hear with the GPS troubles. Let me add that Verizon’s 3G service was superb all through and I sooner or later stopped using WiFi mainly because V3G was plenty fast sufficient for me.Interestingly, I’m applying the Omnia being a wireless system close to the residence for checking electronic mail, Twitter, Face book and straightforward browsing. But not as a mobile phone!
