- Ulysse Nardin introduces Kinectic Winder
It’s very rare that you get to see a wristwatch on anybody’s hand these days. Nowadays every single portable gadget provides information to its users on time, date, weather, etc. Eventually the charm of the watch is lost as some feel that it is irrelevant and useless to wear it and some of the youngsters choose not to wear them at all. They have become so unpopular that they are facing a danger of getting extinct. This might be the reason why Ulysse Nardin, worldwide popular wristwatch manufacturer, has decided to apply some of their technologies to bright future mobile phones, notably a kinetic winder.
Kinetic Winder is a kind of mechanism which allows the wristwatch to work without the use of a battery. There is a pendulum that is placed inside the watch which spins on every movement of the hand throughout the day and develops an enough amount of energy for the watch to work. The same mechanism was introduced in a mobile phone by Ulysse Nardin along with SCI Innovations and the model will be presented at Baselworld 2009 with the title “Chairman”. The Chairman smartphone will also feature some stylish designer work and some handmade quality too. This will be a Ulysse Nardin masterpiece for sure.
The Chairman is a glamorous smartphone which comes in carbon fiber and gold body. The collaboration between Ulysse Nardin and SCI Innovations is not just to sell this beauty but also to share an eco friendly technology. This phone is definitely something we all should watch out for. As of now it is not known whether the specs and the winder will charge the phone all along or will there be a secondary source of energy. Well, we just have to wait until the BaselWorld 2009 to commence.
