Asus had delighted the world last year with the announcement of its new Eee PC line of laptops. These notebooks are both inexpensive and efficient, the weight around 2lbs and are priced at $200-$300.
Since the launch of Asus 1000 series in June this year, there has been a cry in the market that Asus is coming into the light and sleek laptop computers segment with its 10" release and price at only $649. This price has decreased considerably thus making it even better notebook in the market in small segment. well, we immediately purchased one to check out its features.
The specifications of Asus Eee 1000H are Intel Atom N270 (1.6GHz, 512KB cache), 1GB DDR2-400 SO-DIMM, 80GB 5400RPM 2.5” SATA Hard Drive, Intel GMA950 Integrated Graphics, 10” WSVGA 1024x600 LED-backlit screen, 1.3MP webcam, Windows XP Home (comes with ASUS recovery DVD), Atheros wireless 802.11b/g/n mini PCI-Express card, integrated Bluetooth 2.0, 3 USB 2.0 ports, 10/100 ethernet jack, MMC/SD card reader, mic in, headphone out, VGA out, Kensington lock slot, 6-cell 6600mAh battery (Asus claims 7.5hr. battery life), 1-year Global Hardware Warranty, Dimensions: 10.5”x7.5”x1.5”, 3.2lbs. with battery
The most catchy feature is its price at only $449. This notebook is sure to become a steal in the market. Last month this same notebook was selling in $549 and suddenly Asus became generous and announced a $100 drop.
Asus Eee 1000H gives you both functionality and Portability in the best price. With battery the weight is just 31 lbs which is pretty light. The 10" feature makes it ultra portable. The body is made up of ABS Plastic which is little rough. The screen has excellent hinge that gives it great support. The body is pretty good and hard, fitting perfectly for portability.
The screen is a 10" with 1024x600 resolution. This is quite unusual resolution and against the standard of 16:10 ratio or even the HDTV 16:9 ratio. The colors are rich and there is no glare. Honestly, switching suddenly from big screen to such small ones can be uncomfortable, but slowly you will get used to it.
The speakers are good enough for this sized notebook. Dell notebooks of this size have pathetic audio strength. This notebook uses Intel Atom N270 processor clocked at 1.6 Ghz. Hard drive is the standard 2.4" at 5600 rpm.
The only cons we found in this was that the glossy finish is a fingerprint magnet, Hard drive comes pre-formatted in two 40 Gb partitions and its slightly larger and heavier than other notebooks due to large frame work.
Rest assured, its a good notebook to buy.

Thanks for the review for Asus Eee new generation, it seems good notebook for everyone who need simple notebook with high performance.
